Shimano Bike Wheel

Reynolds RZR wheels

My personal highlight of last week's Core Bike Show had to be the supremely light Reynolds RZR 46 wheels.

First, let's get the price out of the way. Are you sitting down? They retail for a cool £4499.99! And no, that's not a typo, before you ask. For that incredible price tag you do get to own one of the lightest sets of wheels currently available, with a quoted weight of 875g for the pair.

Damn Customers

What follows is a long but funny Craigslist posting from a link I came across on the iBob list that I feel the need to share and save for posterity. In tribute to bicycle shop employees everywhere… Enjoy.

A few things from the bike shop. Date: 2009-05-27, 4:05PM PDT

Whoo-hoo Seattle, the sun is out! Let’s discuss a few things before you fumble with swapping the unused ski rack for the unused bike rack on the Subaru.

So yes, you’ve noticed the sun is out, and hey!- maybe it would be cool to to some bike riding. Let’s keep in mind that the sun came out of all 600,000 of us, so for the most part, you’re not the only one who noticed. Please remember that when you walk into my shop on a bright, sunny Saturday morning. It will save you from looking like a complete twat that huffs “Why are there so many people here?”

What is the diffrence between Shimano/SRAM (M10) and Campagnolo (ED10) when describing a road bike rim?

I'm looking to buy a new rear rim road bike after my last was destroyed. However I can not for the life of me understand what some of the general terminology describing the wheel means.

Posted by intrepidfae on 14.09

M10 and ED10 are designations for the hubs, rims not. Shimano and SRAM systems use the same hub, M10. Campagnolo uses the hub system ED10.

Are you talking about rims or wheels? A rim is part of the wheel around the circumference of a wheel has spokes and the hub.

My push bike is not working, when you pedal the rear wheel doesn't turn at all?

his mountain bike with Shimano gears
the gears are turning independently on the rear wheel when you pedal, but the wheel does not rotate at all.

The freewheel needs replaced. There are latches on the inside that when you pedal forward and sliding when cabotage.

Rear axle bearings burned out ... or must be packed again ..

Check the cables breaks, they may be too tight.
