Officers searched the area and last saw Miranda run under the platform of the Southport Railroad train tracks where he hid for about a half hour, causing Metro North to stop service for a short period of time. Bruce Northrup, 41, of 306 Mill Road, Fairfield, a driver for Fairfield Cab Company, was arrested last Thursday for sexual assault in the second degree. Miranda physically threw the female friend who owned the vehicle on the ground several times because she tried to stop him from initially taking the car. Miranda was visiting a friend in Fairfield and took her vehicle without permission. She ran out of her room, saw a safe in the middle of the hallway and ran outside. After the trains continued on, Miranda re-appeared on the tracks and was taken into custody by police without further incident. Miranda left the area prior to the arrival of the police.
