Town avenges Country for past losses
Posted by Otago Daily Times on 07.02.10
A dominant team performance from the Lake Hawea cricket team
was one of the highlights of the annual Hawea district's
Waitangi Day sporting competition, as Town beat Country for
the first time in three years.
The Lake Hawea 11's win at Peter Fraser Park yesterday
afternoon avenged a previous loss to the Hawea Flat team, and
was one of five sporting results where Town defeated their
Country counterparts.

His Lordship has just returned from his Summer recess and on his return discovered a most excellent resource.
This article appeared in my local newspaper that covers large chunks of the new specification.
Former welder, Lee Southern has turned his back on a twenty year welding career to setup the ‘BMX Box’. Lee said that “My previous job took me all over Europe, but after 20 years I had just had enough. I decided it was time to focus my attention on something I enjoy, and for me enjoyment means biking.”
3 months in and sales have exceeded all expectations so well done to Lee.
My 8 year old wants to start BMX racing. What brand of bike should I start him off with.?

I am aware that there are dozens of manufacturers of bicycles there. How do I know which is the best option for one year from 8 years to its beginnings? All I know is that he needs a 20 "bike and I prefer a lighter for him to manage. We are looking for something that can easily get around two years on. Used BMX race would be ideal as we are just starting out. If someone could direct me in the right direction, I would really appreciate it. Thank you!

I'm racing BMX for 8 years.
Redlines are good starting bike, especially for youth. 8 years usually start in a junior size frame, but it depends on the size of your rider. Be sure to measure your inseam riders before you go shopping bike can make it easier to find a good fit. Really look in Redline. Free Agent is also light, small bike racing.

Well, I used to be into BMX for some time but have since risen to mountain biking ...
My bike now is a "giant" (I really like it) ... When I made the BMX bike, I had a 'specialty BMX "(but I was in my teens). Even now, although I can not propose a specific model, I would recommend most major brands ( Giant, Specialized, etc..)
However, since your child is very young, he will not really matter which bike you get (he grow up so fast) ... but at the same time, do not get a motorcycle really shitty just because its cheap - they could lose interest if the sport is unnecessarily harsh.(basically, stick to an aluminum frame and you'll be fine).
