Wake up early to eat my PB/honey sandwich and drink cup of coffee before starting to top off with water etc. The pre-race plan worked out fine as I had packed up all my transition stuff and had brought my bike inside for my race day once. I ate a relaxed breakfast, drank my 1 cup of coffee and inflated tires to appropriate levels. Filled up water bottles, hit the restroom and was on my way to the race. My plan was to ride my bike to the race. It worked smashingly however it was a little creepy flying down Ridge Road in the dark.
