I cannot deny it.  I wish my crush was directed at a cute boy, but I just don’t seem to be running into many of those.

You may remember my love of spinning .  It still exists.  In fact, it single-handedly caused me to dream up plans for my trusty (and rusty) Trek that was hanging out in the garage.  The Trek is basically a mountain bike with hybrid tires.  It was an awesome birthday present my Junior or Senior year of high school and transported me around OU’s campus for five years.  What it also did during those five years was live outside.  It was rained on, frozen, thawed by my rear, snowed on, and for all I know it was struck by lightning.  It has faced the elements and somehow survived to make it to my garage where it acquired two very flat tires, several cobwebs, and a good 1/2 inch of dirt.  Two weeks ago I took that baby out of the garage, dropped it off at the bike shop, and let the repairmen resuscitate my trusty friend.  They did a mighty fine job and also helped me add a very awesome wire mesh basket to the handlebars.  Wa la!  I had a working bike.  And then I tried to ride it quickly…

Medics rushed Mr Blumel, who landed heavily after going over the handlebars of his mountain bike, from Pomona to Nambour General Hospital, where a CT scan revealed the three breaks. "I just can't get up. ". Cr Blumel, who was on a morning bike ride to Twin Waters when her husband was rushed to hospital, said she had a sense of unease about her husband's well-being that morning. ROSS Blumel crashed while mountain biking on Saturday and broke his pelvis in three places. The next day wife Debbie was due to launch Sunshine Coast Council's new guide to mountain bike tracks. The "over-ambitious" mountain biker said he would be back on two wheels after many weeks recovering at home. Mr Blumel said he planned to conquer the track where he fell after he had recovered. Mr Blumel, 53, said he considered himself lucky to have only broken his pelvis and not have a vertebrae injury that could have put him in a wheelchair for life. And Cr Blumel said she had no plans to discourage him.
