To ease bottlenecks, 2010 Iceman Cometh will start in waves

Participants in the Iceman Cometh Challenge willingly hit Northern Michigan’s mountain bike trails in November to take on snow, sleet or ice. Bike traffic, however, had never been part of the bargain.

Racers were having to wait five to eight minutes at bottlenecks in the course because slow racers who exaggerated their skill were slowing up honest racers coming up from later waves, according to an e-mail sent by race promoter Steve Brown to previous race participants.

This is the first of a series I am creating to help those who know little to nothing about riding a mountain bike become legitimate mountain bikers. I will outline what gear you need to start and where to buy it on sale, where to find trails, what to do in order to get and stay in shape for riding and how to find locals to ride with. I do not know dude, maybe $ 150, but nothing else. I have no doubt the bike is working well, but its my opinion it's just not worth $ 200.

What's the resale value for a Gary Fisher Mountain bike - 'Kaitai' model, alum - approx 14 yrs old maintained?

It was purchased new in '95. Shimano STX components. Extended handles. Presto taps. tires Weinmann BCX Town & Country (26x1.90/C139/47-559). No video. Saddle is a little worn. Re TuneUps. No accident.
