Cruiser Bike Pedals

ROB MYLLS is a stocky, wisecracking 42-year-old who is most often found behind a set of carbon fiber handlebars. Last July, after his boss at Hewlett-Packard said goodbye with a handshake and a pink slip, Mylls decided to skip the job hunt to chase a dream. The result is the Bike Dojo, "A Cycling Community." And for anyone who joins, Mylls and his partner Delfina Gimeno promise a year-round ticket to gorgeous scenery, better fitness and maybe even some new friends.

Recumbent bicycles come in a variety of wheelbases, sizes and steering styles. This article will give you a glimpse into the most common.

There are 3 main types of recumbent bicycles. One of the easiest to ride when you’re getting started is the long wheelbase (LWB) model. LWB models have the pedals located between the front and rear wheels while the short wheelbase (SWB) models have the pedals in front of the front wheel. Some people find the SWB a bit harder to learn to ride when they first start out on a recumbent. And lastly, compact long wheelbase (CLWB) models are those that have the pedals either very close to the front wheel or above it. Within these styles are many variations and intermediate types. In fact,  there really is no “standard” recumbent.

My bike chain broke and bewildered. Now I need to buy a chain for him. I bought one, but it does not exactly on the ring of the chain before or foot pedals, but he did well to take on the tape.

Pedals are measured by the diameter of the bolt, there are two common sizes: inches 1 / 2 inch and 9/16th.
