Okay, so i’m back into biking (which is pretty much why I haven’t blogged all summer) and wanted to share what I’ve discovered. Biking has changed! It was apparently starting to change back when I was into it last time (circa-2002) but I never really paid attention.

The biggest and most obvious change is the influence of .com and the acronyms now used in biking. Years ago, biking manufacturers produced a few different bikes for “road biking” and a few more for “mountain biking”. Most of the road bikes varied from cruiser to full on racing and it was very commonplace to see them at any bike shop. Mountain bikes were just that … mountain bikes. 2012 Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Truth be told, after viewing the first pics of the 2012 Harley-Davidson Switchback, my initial impressions were anything but positive. This was also my first experience with the new 103 that was first introduced in the 2010 Electra Glide Ultra Limited. Except for bottoming out the floorboards, and the lack of optimal stopping power, this new creation from The Motor Company had the sportiest handling of any other Harley currently offered across the baggers. This Harley had some talking to do, which was evident as it easily propelled me through a few turns on my self-named "Mountain Course" that I ride daily. Why would Harley design a miniature Road King. But again, that chassis allowed for some serious riding, even when the comfy floorboards were shooting sparks 10-feet back. The mind quickly swung in a different mood, though, following two weeks and 1000 miles of every-type of riding from the daily commute to day trips. and I'd argue even the other Dyna models offered, such as the Super Glide and Street Bob.
