This is the answer to the echoing question: " Whatever happened to Standard? "
After moving manufacturing in-house, Standard is back, and seemingly, as strong as ever in the race scene. You can't turn your head at a BMX race without seeing someone riding an 125R, or wearing a Standard t-shirt, or reppin' a jersey that adorns a Standard logo. It's like the second coming, Y2K all over again. Standard is everywhere. And Rick Moliterno, the same Standard owner featured in Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2, is still here. 45 years young and still pushing, still traveling to races and of course still heckling. On August 23, 2009 the seventh annual Walt Gray Ride For
Kids took place with a roar. Thousands of motorcycles lined up at the Sierra College parking lot in Rocklin, CA while on-site registration was completed with free donuts, coffee and bottled water. The charitable donation fee per
rider was $25.00 with proceeds benefiting the children’s charities Make-A- Wish, Mustard Seed School, Hope Productions Foundation, and Sacramento Children’s Foundation.
