After work, I performed my first tube patch. Patching a tube is a common task for frequent riders but this was my first and being first has it's novelty. I'm sure I'll hate it soon enough. I took the tube out and used a tub of water to figure out where the hole was. It was a tiny little slit about 1mm in length. I roughed up the surface with sandpaper then put the patch 'sticker' on. I should probably replace the tube but for now, it will do. This morning, I found the rear tire still firmly inflated so it looks like patch worked.
